준은 멀리 도쿄 동부 교외 후나바시에 살았다. 혼마는 수년 전에 거기에 딱 한 번 갔었다. 왜 갔는지는 이제 기억나지 않지만, 역에서 2~30분 버스를 탄 기억이 나는 듯 했다. 맑은 날에도 열차를 갈아타고 기다리는 시간 때문에 최소한 편도 1시간 20분 거리였다. 준이 이런 날 밤에 그런 거리를 오려고 했다면, 분명 무언가 잘못된 것이다.
