About once every two weeks, a person was sent to bring me supplies on a mule. This person was usually a farmhand from the lowlands of and old woman who always wore a reddish-colored cap. I heard all of the news from the lowlands from them. However, the new that interested me the most was any word about my Master’s daughter.
