Ever since I was a small child, those around me remarked that I had a calm and compassionate personality. My kindness was especially directed toward animals. I spent most of my time feeding and playing with animals. These were the happiest moments of my life.

For me, this was not a mere childhood pastime that would fade away with adulthood. As a young man, my pets continued to be one of my greatest sources of who has loved a pet dog.

At an early age, I married a pretty young woman who had a similar personality as me. She also liked animals, and in no time we had a variety of pets in our house. There were birds, gold fish, rabbits, a small monkey, a fine dog and a cat.

어려서부터 주변사람들은 내가 온순하고 동정심 많은 아이라고 말했다. 나의 친절함은 특히 동물들에게 베풀어져서, 먹이를 주고 함께 놀아주는 데 대부분의 시간을 보냈다. 이때가 내 인생의 가장 행복한 순간이었다.

나에게 이것은 어른이 되면 서서히 사라지는 그저 그런 어린 시절의 놀이가 아니었다. 청년시절에도, 애완동물들은 내 행복의 가장 큰 원천이 되어주었다. 이 감정은 애완견에게 사랑을 줘 본 사람들에게는 설명할 필요가 없을 것이다.

젊은 나이에, 나는 나와 비슷한 성격의 아리따운 젊은 여인과 결혼을 했다. 그녀 또한 동물을 좋아했으며, 얼마 안 가서 우리 집은 각종 애완 동물들을 기르게 되었다. 새, 금붕어, 토끼, 작은 원숭이, 명견, 그리고 고양이 한 마리가 있었다.
